Job description

Position: Materials Manager

Location: Pershore, Worcestershire

Job Type: Permanent / Onsite

My client, a global specialist manufacturing business, is seeking a Materials Manager to join their dynamic and expanding team.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is managing and monitoring all inventory and vehicle movements across two UK sites. This includes overseeing materials flow, stock accuracy, and transactions within the ERP system.

1. Continuously improve material flow processes to implement best practices.
2. Manage Goods in Control processes, collaborating with the Quality team to ensure proper identification and storage of materials.
3. Oversee perpetual stock counting, analyze discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
4. Review future resource needs based on sales forecasts and adjust plans accordingly.

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, managing materials and logistics.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAGE200 or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Proven warehouse management experience, with knowledge of material movement, storage principles, and FIFO practices.
• Understanding of Lean Management principles and a track record of process improvements.
