Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Materials Science/Engineering or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
• Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build good working relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and expert materials advice across the Defence Bristol programmes.
• Support design of test programmes and analysis of test programme data.
• Investigate engineering development, production manufacturing and in-service issues using a structured analytical approach and presenting findings clearly and authoritatively.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Leading technologies through the TRL journey including novel materials, manufacturing processes, models and analysis methods.
• Evaluate the effects of manufacturing processes on material performance.
• Developing, writing, and maintaining materials and process specifications.
