Job description

Work with ERIKS colleagues and customers on next-generation materials to support future product needs. Provide guidance in material selection and problem solving, including during customer visits.

Ensure regulatory compliance, maintain approvals, and report to customers when required.

Collaborate with the Design Team to specify physical properties that optimize component performance and support finite element analysis. Aim to improve designs for maximum reliability through a detailed understanding of geometry-material interactions.

Work with production staff to test rubber compounds, determine optimal processing temperatures and times for improved productivity and problem solving.

Participate actively in international, multi-disciplinary product development teams, involving formulation of conventional materials, supplier development, problem solving, failure analysis, and compliance advice.

Conduct failure and product complaint analyses, interpret test results, and prepare test reports and product data sheets.

Hours of work: Mon - Fri, 08:30am - 5:00pm

About you:

  • Knowledge of elastomers, materials, and polymers with recognized university qualifications (MSc, PhD, etc.).
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Some industrial experience in the relevant field.
  • Experience or knowledge of rubber compounding, milling, processing, and testing.
  • Training in laboratory testing equipment such as hardness testers, FTIR, TGA, DSC, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and willing to learn internal software.
  • Analytical thinking, self-discipline, ability to work independently, and good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Organized, adheres to safety and housekeeping standards, punctual, and produces accurate reports.
