Job Description:

Expleo is looking to hire a Materials Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Warwickshire, UK, at a Senior Professional (P3) level. This role supports a key client and offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in materials science within a dynamic and innovative environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research and study the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic materials through experiments and computer modelling
  • Develop new materials or enhance existing ones to meet specific performance criteria
  • Test materials for mechanical strength, strength-to-weight ratio, ductility, magnetic and electrical properties, and resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and temperature extremes
  • Recommend materials for reliable performance in diverse environments
  • Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards

What We’re Looking For:

  • Advanced knowledge in materials science or a related field, typically gained through higher education and significant work experience
  • Experience with materials testing and simulation tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently with limited supervision
  • Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior professionals
  • Comfortable working on complex and sometimes challenging problems
