Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join our Severn Beach site near Bristol. You will ensure material availability to support the production plan, manage stock movement and coordinate with Planning, Procurement and Production to mitigate shortages and risks.

You will create and maintain work orders in the ERP system, review deviations, monitor shortages and support day-to-day production operations with proactive material management.

Qualifications

• Experience in material availability, stock movement or production support in manufacturing/w warehousing/logistics environments.
• Experience using ERP and MRP systems to review demand and supply and manage inventory transactions.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise work effectively and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Material Availability Management: ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer deliveries.
• Work Order Support: create, release and maintain work orders in the ERP system; review deviation permits and concessions.
• Shortage Management: review shortage reports, prioritise critical shortages and escalate risks to protect deliveries.
• Production Support: attend planning meetings and provide updates on material risks; support schedule adherence.
• Reporting & Administration: maintain shortage trackers and material status reports; monitor key metrics.
