Job summary

T Vaughan Ltd is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage external procurement for consumables on our sites across London and the South East. You will price materials, identify suppliers, request quotations, and arrange timely deliveries to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and providing cost data to estimators during tendering.

Qualifications

• Experience in on-site procurement for consumables.
• Ability to obtain quotations from suppliers.
• Familiarity with delivery scheduling and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing external procurement for consumable products on site (excluding owned/hired plant, tools, equipment).
• Providing prices for materials and consumables in project plans/drawings.
• Identifying potential suppliers and new products.
• Contacting suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations and pre-qualification information.
• Agreeing delivery times for project needs.
• Compiling information for project O&M manuals (guarantees, warranties, chain of custody).
• Building relationships with regular suppliers and maintaining records.
• Requesting technical data information for products and recording as necessary.
• Maintaining records of large-volume delivery tickets (concrete pours, muck-aways) including proofs of delivery.
• Arranging external waste management collections and deliveries across sites, and keeping transfer/consignment notes.
• Keeping detailed records and well-organised work schedules.
• Assessing reliability of sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Dealing with challenges related to suppliers and material flow.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements for materials/services.
• Providing cost predictions to the project estimator for items.
• Liaising with estimators during tendering to source products/materials.
• Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency.
• Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers after contracts are secured.
• Producing quotation comparisons to show best value across products/suppliers.
• Leading by example for the company in day-to-day representation.
• Carrying out other reasonable tasks as requested by line manager/Directorship.
