gap construction are proud to be representing a respected and growing residential developer based in Newmarket, in their search for a Materials Buyer to join their highly successful commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking housebuilder with a strong pipeline of high quality developments across the East of England.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence purchasing strategies, build strong supplier relationships, and contribute to cost efficiency and sustainability goals across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and procure materials for multiple residential sites.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure reliable service and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet project schedules.
  • Monitor stock levels, deliveries, and supplier performance.
  • Support the Commercial and Site Management teams in achieving cost control and value engineering objectives.
  • Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Manage supplier queries, delivery issues, and invoice discrepancies efficiently.
