Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join our Planning team in Severn Beach, Bristol. You will ensure material availability to support the production plan, manage movement and inventory in ERP, and collaborate with Purchasing, Stores and Production to resolve shortages and keep schedules on track.

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining work orders, reviewing deviations, monitoring shortages, and reporting material risks.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or material-control with responsibility for material availability.
• Experience using ERP and MRP systems to review demand and supply, identify shortages and manage inventory.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer delivery.
• Monitor and address material shortages to prevent disruption.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to expedite purchase orders.
• Create and maintain work orders in the ERP system.
• Track shortages and recovery actions.
• Attend daily production and planning meetings and provide updates.
• Maintain shortage trackers and material status reports.
• Monitor material control metrics and drive process improvements.
