Job summary

The Blackheath Hospital in London, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Materials Assistant to join the Materials department on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern and a salary of up to £29,000 per year, depending on experience, training and qualification.

Responsibilities include day-to-day running of the department, ensuring stock availability through correct ordering, maintaining paperwork, and completing mandatory training.

Qualifications

• GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in PC use, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience in a healthcare supplies setting is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The Blackheath Hospital in London is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in the Materials department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• E xperience within a healthcare supplies setting desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
