Job summary

The Blackheath Hospital, part of Circle Health Group in London, is seeking a Materials Assistant for a 37.5 hour per week, permanent role. The position supports the Materials Department with stock management and administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates will have GCSEs in Maths and English, strong IT skills (Word/Excel), and good communication. Healthcare supplies experience is desirable and training is provided.

Qualifications

• A minimum of GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience within a healthcare supplies setting desirable.
• Customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.
