Morson Edge in Yeovil is recruiting a Material Supply Officer to join a defence/aerospace client on an ongoing contract. You will work in a team to manage a supply chain that meets future requirements and customer needs, focusing on timely procurement and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities include monitoring supplier KPI performances, acting as main contact for order book issues, and providing detailed feedback on supply chain performance to internal customers.

• ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain.
• 1–2 years in material supply, procurement or related role.
• Experience with multiple locations globally and cross-team collaboration.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication and IT skills.

Morson Edge currently have an opportunity for a Material Supply Officer to work on behalf of our aerospace client in Yeovil. This is an ongoing contract.

JOB PURPOSE

Work as part of a team to manage a supply chain which consistently and accurately meets future requirements in terms of business need.

Ensure the effective management of suppliers and their performance in the most economic, efficient and timely manner in accordance with defined programme requirements, the customer's requirements and the relevant company policies.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

• Monitor supplier performances verifying relevant KPI's and when needed, involving the appropriate functions for setting recovery actions.
• Acts as the main point of contact for order book issues and uses this focus to provide improved supplier performance.
• Provides detail feedback to internal customers on Supply Chain performance using company identified and recognised applications.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Education - ONC/HNC (or equivalent) preferably in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain competency or two years relevant experience.
• 1 to 2 years of previous experience working in a material supply, procurement/commercial, manufacturing environment or relevant experience with exceptional performance. Proven success of working with, building & maintaining business relationships.
• Experience working with multiple locations globally. Proven success with working at different levels within an organisation.
• Strong time management skills and respect for deadlines. Ability to work cross functionally.
• Must have strong oral and written communication & IT skills.

Travel national & international is an expectation of the role. Ability to work under pressure. Must hold a valid passport a driving licence is desirable.

Hours - 37 hours per week, 5 days

Holiday accrued for up to 37 hours per week worked

Overtime - In usual circumstances, there is opportunity to work overtime per week (up to 10% pre authorised)
