Here in the UK

In the UK, Pernod Ricard is made up of 4 businesses:

  • Chivas Brothers, the largest brand company in the Group, responsible for the production and management of our award-winning Scotch whisky portfolio
  • Pernod Ricard UK, which markets, sells and distributes our products in the UK market

  • The Absolut Group, the brand owner of our global white spirits portfolio, whose Gin brand unit and Business Acceleration team sit in London.

We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.

Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Manufacturing Supply Chain team are based in Glasgow and Dumbarton and oversee all aspects of our supply chain including production & material planning, bill of materials management, demand planning, logistics, direct sourcing, and customer service.

Your unique contribution

The Material Planner role is to secure material availability for the planned production schedule, considering all known contractual arrangements with suppliers and Dry Goods logistic capabilities.

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

  • Management of the short-term material plan for the defined commodities, through Purchase Order Management and ensuring the Supplier has the logistic capabilities in place to meet delivery requirements. You will also act as the single point of contact on the S&OE horizon, on demand outlook, PO and material call-offs, troubleshooting in case of supplier constraints or change in CBL needs
  • Maintain the Make to Order / Make to Stock policy for the defined commodities, including MOQs and delivery frequencies to optimize costs, cash and service
  • Deliver excellent service by building strong working relationships with Suppliers, proactively resolving and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Work closely with Procurement Category Managers to understand medium – long term supply risks and quantify how these may impact CBL production. You will also track day-to-day supplier performance and escalate recurring issues to Category Managers.

Who you’ll be working with

Internally, you will collaborate with the wider Supply Chain team as well as Bottling, New Product Development, Logistics and Finance.

Externally, you will work with suppliers and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role within FMCG, preferably within the drinks sector.
  • Have an understanding of end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing processes and associated interdependencies and constraints.
  • Have excellent IT skills, with minimum of intermediate Excel skills and experience in using ERP systems.
  • Are able to process and manage large volume of data.
