Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a Material Handler I to join our warehouse team in Loughborough. This role focuses on receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping products safely while meeting day-to-day operational goals. You will work 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:30–16:30 and Friday 08:30–17:00, with a 12-month contract.

Prior warehouse experience and ability to follow English SOPs are required. GBP13.20 per hour.

• Experience in warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, dispatch).
• Ability to read, understand and follow SOPs in English.
• Willingness to work shift patterns and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and Put-Away: receive deliveries/returns, unload items and log goods into the system.
• Picking and Packing: locate and assemble orders, package and label for transit.
• Dispatch and Loading: sort orders onto routes and load delivery vehicles safely.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in efficiency and quality projects and abide by safety targets.

Working within a dynamic team environment, you will be responsible for ensuring products are accurately and efficiently received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped. Your focus will be on safely achieving day:to:day operational goals following safety, quality, and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and Put:Away: Receive deliveries/returns, unload items (boxes, cages, pallets) using manual handling equipment, check quantities/quality against purchase orders/ASNs, and book goods into the warehouse management system.
• Picking and Packing: Locate and assemble customer orders using radio data terminals and picking lists; package and label cartons/pallets for safe transit.
• Dispatch and Loading: Sort customer orders onto outbound routes and safely load delivery vehicles/carriers according to manifest sequences.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in efficiency and quality improvement projects (such as 5S and Kaizen) and maintain productivity and safety targets.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations (e.g., picking, packing, dispatch, or forklift driving).
• Communication: Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal standard operating procedures in English.
• Teamwork and Flexibility: Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to support team goals, and flexibility regarding shift patterns or overtime when needed.
