Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture, repair, and overhaul of landing gears and flight-critical components for a customer base ranging from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to operators in both the commercial and military sectors.

Summary of position:

The Materials Handler will be responsible for goods receipt, including all materials, forgings, ancillary items, and dispatching. The role involves packing and protecting outgoing parts according to specifications.

Main responsibilities:

1. Material Receipt – Free issue and purchased parts
2. Visual inspection of stock and understanding of Certificates of Conformance (C of C) to meet requirements
3. Labeling stock and managing stock storage, including preservation
4. Upkeep of bonded areas
5. Stamping and distributing incoming paperwork
6. Maintaining route card discipline according to company procedures
7. Packing all subcontracted work and finished goods, including labeling
8. Sorting test pieces for heat treatment, maintaining traceability
9. Moving parts to the next operation
10. Unloading materials from vehicles
11. Receiving and storing materials in accordance with procedures
12. Issuing materials promptly according to route cards and shop requirements
13. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
14. Ensuring POD paperwork for deliveries is scanned and stored for retrieval
15. Participating in continuous improvement and lean activities

Qualifications:

• Computer literacy: emails, Excel, Word, ERP systems
• Full driving license essential
• Experience in goods-in and logistics within the aerospace environment
• Forklift license
• Self-starter with flexibility
• Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
• Committed to success and teamwork
• Open to change
