The Opportunity
We are looking to employ a tenacious and proactive Material Controller, who demonstrates pride in their attention to detail. The role's primary objective is to ensure the on-time supply of purchased and in-house manufactured parts to support the manufacturing plan. If it becomes evident the plan may not be met, early identification and escalation to stakeholders is required.
The MC role is interchangeable across a variety of manufacturing areas. The working environment may be cleanroom, manufacturing, office based, or a mix of environments.
Daily activities include the review, release and maintaining of work orders and sub-contracted operations. If required, faulty parts will be prepared for return to suppliers.
Material Controllers communicate across a variety of functions. Clear written and verbal communication is essential. The ability to organise, plan and prioritise is required. There will be occasions where it is necessary to work under pressure.
An understanding of the principles of MRP systems is preferred. A competent user of Microsoft applications is desirable.
What you will do as a Material Controller
Review, release and maintenance of work orders through the MRP system (SAP).
Ensuring parts, both purchased and in-house manufactured, are available when required to support the manufacturing plan.
Identifying when delays may impact to the manufacturing plan and communicating to stakeholders.
Expediting of procured and in-house manufactured parts.
Reporting on supply and demand.
Return faulty parts to the Vendor and manage them back into Leonardo.
Communication across a variety of functions, both written and verbal.
Initiate shipping process (generate internal documentation for delivery).

Understanding of the fundamentals of MRP
Efficient organising of own workload
Good written and verbal communicator
Problem solver
Very good attention to detail and data accuracy
Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English
