Job summary

Stannah is seeking a Material Control Operative for the Andover facility. You will oversee inventory control, coordinate with purchasing, goods inwards and dispatch, and ensure accurate records in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires forklift experience, Kanban knowledge and a focus on continuous improvement and safety. Permanent, with standard Monday-Thursday shifts and some flexibility for coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Desirable knowledge of Kanban, stock control and material replenishment.

Responsibilities

• Move goods using forklift in a safe, efficient manner.
• Ensure health and safety policies and safe systems of work are followed.
• Replenish lines in Pick and Pack and Kiting with incoming goods.
• Accurately check stock locations and goods loaded/picked.
• Be multi-skilled to cover other areas of the department.

Material Control Operative Jobs in Andover at Stannah– Join Our Team!

Stannah have an exciting opportunity for a Material Control Operative to join the Manufacturing department based at Stephenson Close, Andover.

This role will involve overseeing inventory control activities to keep stock levels efficient and records accurate. It works closely with purchasing, goods inwards, and dispatch to ensure smooth operations, includes other reasonable duties as needed.

As the Material Control Operative, you will work Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:45, Friday 08:00 - 13:00. This is a permanent contract.

To be successful as a Material Control Operative, it is essential that you have previous experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Experience of Kanban systems, stock control and material replenishment processes would be desirable.

Material Control Operative Responsibilities:

• Movement of Goods using correct Manual Handling and use of a Forklift

Ensuringcompliance with Health & Safety policies, environmental standards, and safe systems of work

• Ensure lines within Pick and Pack (Upholstery & Carpet) and Kiting are replenished with incoming goods to the highest available levels
• Accurate checking of stock locations being loaded and picked from
• Required to be multi skilled to cover other areas of the department

Material Control Operative Requirements:

• Aisle master and Counterbalance Forklift licence
• Accuracy and ability to use barcode equipment
• Proactive to stop potential out of box issues and drive to improve quality
• An understanding of the Continuous Improvement process
• Good understanding of health and safety principles and procedures
