Job summary

Oyster Yachts is seeking an experienced Mate/Engineer to join a brand-new Oyster 595 for a Mediterranean cruising programme starting March 2027. The role offers exciting endurance to potentially join the Oyster World Rally 2028 for a longer-term adventure.

After delivery in Guernsey, the yacht will cruise Italy, the Ionian and the Adriatic, with family and friends aboard and a mix of coastal passages and longer hops, ending with ARC 2027 in Las Palmas.

Qualifications

• Yachtmaster Offshore (Commercially Endorsed) required.
• STCW and ENG1 certificates required.
• Strong sailing and watch-keeping experience.
• Good engineering and technical knowledge.
• Practical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Positive, professional and adaptable attitude.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong references.

Responsibilities

• Carry out sailing, navigation and watch-keeping duties.
• Troubleshoot systems and perform routine maintenance.
• Assist in maintaining yacht appearance and condition.
• Work closely with owner as part of a small team.
