Job summary

Briggs Marine Group is seeking a Vessel Master to command the vessel, liaise with customers, and lead a crew in accordance with company values and safety standards. You will ensure safe operation, environmental compliance, and proactive problem-solving while maintaining strong external relationships.

The role requires RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, STCW training, ENG1 medical, and UK residency with security clearance.

Qualifications

• RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification required.
• Training according to STCW Regulations.
• Proven track record of working on small vessels.
• Advanced knowledge of vessel operations and equipment.
• Experience with safety management systems and health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of fleet management systems.
• Ability to lead and proactively propose improvements.
• ENG1 Medical and UK resident status.
• MOD security clearance (UK resident for 3+ years).
• Full UK driving licence and Plymouth Base proximity.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture – ‘Safe Out, Safe Home’
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies
• Maintain safe working environment onboard during watch
• Uphold operational efficiency, morale and welfare of crew
• Identify client needs and respond accordingly
• Follow procedures in case of breakdown, accident or pollution
• Issue standing orders for efficient ship operation
• Keep accurate records onboard and in department systems
