Job summary

Core Group in Cambridge is seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our construction team. You will install and fix reinforcement bars in concrete structures, reading drawings and ensuring safety and accuracy on site.

Applicant should have CSCS Skilled Worker steelfixing and proven experience with pile caps, beams and slabs, plus competence with hand and power tools. This role involves on-site duties, heavy lifting, and collaboration with carpenters and other trades.

Qualifications

• Experience fixing pile caps, beams and ground floor slabs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• CSCS Skilled Worker steelfixing certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to place reinforcement.
• Measure, cut, bend, and assemble reinforcement bars with hand and power tools.
• Fix bars in position and ensure safety and project compliance.
• Assist with moving heavy components around site.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other trades on site.
