Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is recruiting a Master Data Analyst Apprentice in Howden, East Yorkshire. The programme offers hands-on SAP master data experience, structured rotations and a Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.

You will earn while you learn and develop through a 16-month programme plus a 3-month endpoint assessment, progressing to a permanent role on successful completion. The starting salary is £22,650 per annum (£24,784.50 if aged 21+).

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Three A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent Level 3) or a relevant degree.
• UK right to work, residency and commitment to the apprenticeship path.

We're looking for a Master Data Analyst Apprentice to join our expert Master Data team, where you'll gain hands‑on experience, earn while you learn, and build the skills needed for a long‑term career in data management and business systems. You'll work with business‑critical systems, including SAP, support key projects and processes, and complete a structured Level 4 apprenticeship programme, all while being supported by experienced specialists who are invested in your development.

Location: Howden, East Yorkshire

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Salary: £22,650 per annum (£24,784.50 if you are aged 21 or over)

Assessment day: Wednesday 11th November 2026

Am I eligible for this programme?

We're looking for someone who's curious, analytical and excited about building a career in data and business systems. You'll ideally:

• Be a UK, EU or EEA citizen, or have the right to work in the UK.
• Have lived in the UK for at least three years.
• Not be on a Tier 1, Tier 4 or Tier 5 visa.
• Have GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Have completed, or be predicted to achieve, at least three A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent Level 3 qualification), or hold a relevant degree.
• Be a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Have strong numeracy skills and a logical approach to problem‑solving.
• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Be keen to learn new systems, technologies and ways of working.
• Enjoy working collaboratively and taking a solutions‑focused approach.
• Have experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL or other data tools (desirable but not essential)

What will you be doing as a Master Data Analyst Apprentice?

As part of the Master Data team, you'll support a range of business‑critical activities while developing your skills through structured rotations across the function. You'll:

• Create, maintain and update master data in SAP and related systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and data quality.
• Support product creation, amendments and product data management.
• Assist with taxonomy and product classification activities.
• Carry out data validation, quality checks and governance activities.
• Produce KPI reports and management information.
• Support shared mailboxes, workflow queues and service requests.
• Maintain process documentation and work instructions.
• Contribute to business projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support system testing, process enhancements and change activities.
• Build a strong understanding of data management, governance and business processes.

Development Path

You'll report to the Master Data Manager and learn through structured rotations, supported by subject matter experts across the team.

Months 1–3: Business induction, SAP fundamentals, documentation, data quality and basic processing.
Months 4–6: SAP Manufacturing.
Months 7–9: SAP Central.
Months 10–12: Taxonomy.
Months 13–15: New Product Introduction.
Months 16 onwards: Flexible deployment across all operational areas with increasing independence.

Apprenticeship Qualification

Alongside valuable workplace experience, you'll complete a structured programme designed to develop your technical, analytical and professional skills. Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll gain practical experience across SAP Manufacturing, SAP Central, Taxonomy and New Product Introduction while working towards an industry‑recognised qualification. By the end of the programme, you'll have the knowledge, skills and experience needed to progress into a Master Data Analyst role and build a long‑term career in data and business systems.

Programme Length: 16 months plus 3 months end‑point assessment
