Job summary

Opus People Solutions are recruiting for 2 Markets Operatives on behalf of Walsall Council. The role covers day-to-day operation, maintenance and presentation of markets across the borough, outdoors in all weather, with early starts and split shifts.

You will set up and dismantle stalls, move bins, litter pick, engage with traders and the public, and report issues to supervision. Must have full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle; 18+ and a team player.

Qualifications

• Previous experience undertaking manual or physical work.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and dismantling market stalls.
• Moving and positioning bins across market sites.
• Litter picking and maintaining clean market environments.
• Engaging professionally with market traders and members of the public.
• Reporting issues and updates to the Team Leader and Market Operational Manager.
• Spreading grit and rock salt during icy weather conditions.
• Supporting the upkeep of market infrastructure.
• Carrying out basic site maintenance.
