Job description

Wayfair is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate, Marketing Merchandising to join our UK Marketing Merchandising team. This team is responsible for shaping a best-in-class merchandising experience by strategically selecting and presenting products that align with market trends, customer preferences, and business objectives across multiple channels - including TV, onsite, social media, email, and out-of-home (OOH) marketing.

As an Associate, Marketing Merchandising, you will support the development and execution of assortment and merchandising strategies for key promotional and brand campaigns. You will work cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution, leveraging data insights to curate high-impact product selections that enhance customer engagement and drive business performance. This role requires a creative eye, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

Assortment Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute curated product assortments for key promotional and brand campaigns within project timelines
  • Align merchandising initiatives with business priorities, customer preferences, and seasonal trends.
  • Address tactical and operational challenges to ensure seamless merchandising execution.
  • Collaborate with Category Management and Pricing teams to integrate sales insights, optimize product selections, and identify growth opportunities.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
  • Analyze campaign and product performance to generate insights, refine strategies, and enhance future curated assortments.
  • Ensure quality assurance for all merchandise assets, maintaining accuracy and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Conduct post-campaign reviews to identify key learnings and drive continuous improvement.
Market Research & Trend Forecasting
  • Monitor consumer trends, competitive activity, and industry shifts to refine Wayfair’s merchandising strategy.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to enhance curation tactics and optimize category performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Merchandising Initiatives
  • Assist in developing and executing curated events and cross-functional merchandising initiatives, including event tracking, content management, merchandising curation, and “New In” strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Brand, Creative, Promotions, and Category Management teams to refine Wayfair’s merchandising approach.
  • Ensure merchandising strategies align with business objectives, seasonal trends, and customer insights.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
  • Optimize merchandising workflows to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Implement best practices to improve the speed, accuracy, and effectiveness of marketing merchandising.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Brand, Business, Economics, or a related field, with 1.5-3 years of experience in buying / merchandising, e-commerce, or retail.
  • Ability to translate brand vision, customer insights, and financial objectives into effective product assortments and seamless execution.
  • Data-driven mindset, with expertise in analyzing large data sets and deriving actionable insights.
  • Strong aesthetic sense and trend awareness to drive high-quality product curation.
  • Passion for industry trends, product design, and home decorating is a plus.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fostering strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Looker, Google BigQuery (GBQ), or similar performance tracking tools is a plus.
  • Fluency in English
