VANS EMEA is looking for an exceptional Marketing Manager UK & ROI to join our Marketing team based in London, UK.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You, as Marketing Manager, will lead marketing activities for Vans in the UK & ROI markets, focused primarily on wholesale, events & sports marketing, whilst supporting the central marketing functions on retail activations, seeding, and media placements.

What does success look like?

  • You deliver the brand strategy with local nuance in a way that’s undoubtably right, and aligned, for the brand in your marketplace.
  • You and your team are responsible for best-in-class marketing deployment – holding yourself and others to the highest standards.
  • You lead with skateboarding to inspire consumers with the Off the Wall mindset, unlocking engagement with youth audiences and inspiring future generations through our local choices.
  • You work in close collaboration with your peers in other markets, the wider marketing department, and across the organization – success is shared.

What you’ll do:

  1. Deploy annual brand story map, focused on five key tenets:
  2. Deliver impactful wholesale launches through campaigns & projects with focus on selected (and cross-functionally aligned) partners, including top regional/local key accounts and specialty pinnacle & action sports accounts (30%).
  3. Create powerful ‘handshake’ moments through best-in-class events that are regionally connected, aligned & amplified (30%).
  4. Generate relevancy & authentic connections through meaningful local relationships/partnerships with endemic media, local skate teams, flow & community seeding, local content outputs, sponsorships & grassroots projects (20%).
  5. Drive local communities to engage with Vans owned touchpoints through co-project management of retail & PSS activations (10%).
  6. Garner local impact of product marketing stories through seeding activities & media placements in cohesion with regional PR & Paid Media counterparts (10%).

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

  • Implementing marketing tactics across all five tenets of the role, defining the appropriate marketing mix that also considers the broader regional marketing scope in your marketplace (Paid Media, Communications, DTC, Performance Marketing & Loyalty) which are managed centrally.
  • Establishing a deep understanding of consumer dynamics in your marketplace.
  • Having your finger on the pulse of youth culture, action sports, competitors, and the retail landscape at large.
  • Identifying existing and future opportunities for Vans to deliver impact.
  • Knowing all distribution touchpoints for your marketplace and how to maximize consumer connectivity with our key partners.
  • Understanding business plans and developing relationships with key stakeholders to unlock business potential.
  • Providing regular local insights to inform regional marketing choices.
  • Allocating, tracking, and reporting on marketing investments across your marketplace to ensure maximum ROI – placing both acquisition & advocacy at the heart of all investment choices.
  • Managing the budgeting process end-to-end, ensuring timely and comprehensive accounting processes.

You should be a passionate marketer, with:

  • The ability to catch others’ ideas and turn them into reality, while also bringing your own creative concepts that can be scaled or replicated.
  • The capacity to work autonomously with a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.
  • A solutions-first outlook.
  • An affinity for the Vans brand and its culture.
  • A formal education and university degree in marketing, fashion, retail, or business are nice to have, but we are most interested in your overall experience and achievements.
