Overall Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Chartwells Universities & Colleges Proposition, focusing on driving profitable revenue growth through participation and MAP2 growth, supporting sales and retention pipelines.

This involves creating measurable activation plans to increase sales, ATV, and profit, focusing on categories like lunch, hot beverages, and food to go, via apps, kiosks, and tills.

The role requires engaging with stakeholders, ensuring activity aligns with insights and internal protocols, and communicating progress regularly.

More about the role:
  • Develop and communicate annual marketing plans collaboratively
  • Create engaging promotional materials through third-party agencies and in-house tools
  • Manage external creative agencies and create operational briefing documents
  • Build and manage the marketing budget with approval from senior leadership
  • Secure sponsorships to fund marketing activities
  • Approve retail promotions supporting category growth
Food Development
  • Determine annual food development plans based on consumer insights, working with the Executive Chef
Insight
  • Gather and utilize market, consumer, and operator insights for planning
  • Create and promote university and college surveys to gather consumer feedback
  • Develop reports from survey data to inform strategies
Brand Standards
  • Maintain brand standards across all outlets and branded items
  • Ensure templates and designs are consistent with brand guidelines
  • Support SOP development for creating welcoming, sales-optimized spaces
  • Manage content updates on digital platforms like Uni Food Hub and Time2Eat
Student Engagement & Community Marketing
  • Support training and development of community managers
  • Coordinate campaigns, manage assets, and produce reports
  • Support sales team with content and presentations, organize photoshoots
