Overall Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Chartwells Universities & Colleges Proposition to drive profitable revenue growth through participation and MAP2 growth, supporting sales and retention pipelines.

This involves creating measurable activation plans focusing on key categories such as lunch, hot beverages, and food to go, to increase participation, spend, and frequency via apps, kiosks, and tills.

The role requires engaging with stakeholders, utilizing market and internal insights, and aligning activities with internal protocols and objectives.

More about the role:
  • Developing and communicating the annual marketing plan collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Creating engaging promotional materials with third-party agencies and in-house tools within set budgets and timelines
  • Managing third-party creative agencies and operational briefing documents
  • Building marketing assets using Canva for digital and print activities
  • Managing the marketing budget with approval from senior management
  • Securing sponsorships to fund marketing activities
  • Approving promotional business cases for retail promotions
Food Development
  • Determining the Annual Food Development Plan based on consumer insights and collaboration with the Executive Development Chef
Insight
  • Gathering marketplace, consumer, and operator insights to inform marketing and food offers
  • Designing and analyzing consumer surveys to guide marketing strategies
  • Creating point-of-sale materials to raise awareness of surveys
  • Developing operator briefings for survey implementation
  • Producing comprehensive reports on survey findings and site-level data
Brand Standards
  • Maintaining brand standards across all Chartwells brands
  • Ensuring new templates adhere to brand guidelines
  • Approving visual designs for outlets and branded items
  • Supporting SOP development for creating welcoming, sales-optimized spaces
  • Updating content on the Real Life Tech side of the Uni Food Hub
  • Supporting the development of the Uni Food Hub and Time2Eat app
  • Managing menu uploads and edits on digital platforms
Student Engagement & Community Marketing
  • Supporting the Student Engagement Manager in marketing skill development
  • Briefing on marketing campaigns and managing project delivery
  • Creating assets for campaigns and print materials
  • Preparing quarterly review packs and sharing content on LinkedIn
  • Supporting sales with content and presentations, organizing photoshoots
