Overall Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Chartwells Universities & Colleges Proposition, driving profitable revenue growth through participation and MAP2 growth, supporting sales and retention pipelines.

This involves creating measurable activation plans that boost sales, ATV, and profit, focusing on key categories like lunch, hot beverages, and food to go, by increasing participation, spend, and frequency across campuses via apps, kiosks, and tills.

The role requires engaging with stakeholders for optimal activity execution, underpinned by market and internal insights, aligning with business protocols and objectives.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Developing and communicating annual marketing plans in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Creating engaging promotional materials with third-party agencies and in-house tools within set budgets and timelines
  • Managing third-party creative agencies
  • Preparing operational briefs for new offers and campaigns
  • Building marketing assets using Canva for digital and print activities
  • Managing the marketing budget with approval from senior management
  • Securing sponsorships to fund marketing activities
  • Approving retail promotions and supporting category growth initiatives
Food Development & Insight
  • Planning food development based on consumer insights, working with culinary teams
  • Gathering and analyzing marketplace, consumer, and operator insights to inform marketing and food offerings
Brand Standards & Community Engagement
  • Maintaining brand standards across all outlets and materials
  • Supporting SOP development for customer-friendly spaces and merchandising
  • Managing digital content updates and app development feedback
  • Supporting student engagement and community marketing efforts, including campaigns, social media, and events
