Job summary

South Devon College in Paignton is recruiting a Deputy Head of Marketing on a maternity cover basis, to lead schools engagement, community outreach and major college events while supporting the Head of Marketing in day-to-day decisions.

You will line manage the schools and community engagement team, act as a business partner to departments, and help drive post-event evaluation and future planning. Hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Experience of schools liaison or community engagement with stakeholders.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in coaching or managing colleagues.
• Organised, able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
• Clear communicator, able to translate needs into practical marketing activity.
• Experience with CRM systems and digital marketing would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the College’s schools engagement programme and wider community outreach.
• Own and deliver business and stakeholder events, ensuring activity is well planned and professionally delivered.
• Manage cross-college events (open events, Graduation, Student Awards, Staff Awards, Apprenticeship Awards).
• Line manage and coach colleagues in the schools and community engagement function.
• Act as a business partner for specified departments and translate priorities into marketing activity.
• Deputise for the Head of Marketing and represent the team in meetings.
• Contribute to post-event evaluation and customer feedback for future planning.
