We are looking for a passionate events specialist looking to develop their career within a growing and ambitions marketing team, working for an industry leader. This extended 16-month maternity cover opportunity is a great chance to develop your skills in an in-house environment, working for the UK office of a global company.
Working within a thriving marketing team, you’ll be responsible for leading the delivery of our annual events programme, adding your own creative flair to the execution of trade shows, hospitality, executive client entertainment, industry events, client-facing events and our own employee engagement events.
Customers you’ll be designing experiences for include some of the UK’s largest retailers, car manufacturers and food and beverage companies.
If successful in the role, you’ll be supporting the wider Customer Experience and Marketing team to achieve great things together.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
We’d like you to bring an understanding of the varying requirements of different styles of events, along with experience in recording return on investment metrics and means of tracking feedback.
A team player, your specialist events knowledge will complement our multichannel marketing department to collaboratively achieve business objectives.
We encourage curiosity, autonomy, and feedback within marketing on how we can work better for our customers and ourselves against the needs of the business and industry demands.
Some of the key skills and characteristics we’re looking for include:
Experience in delivering a broad spectrum of events, including exhibitions, from briefing through to on-site execution (or an events related qualification)
Understanding of events health and safety procedures and documentation
Understanding of commercial and business priorities and ensure events and merchandise approaches are aligned to these
Excellent organisational skills
Advanced communications and stakeholder management skills – able to adapt to different audiences

In this role you’ll contribute strategic thinking and expertise to ensure all of our events reflectour company values and deliver our targeted messaging and commercial objectives. With the support of your line manager, you’ll provide regular progress reports to ourinternal stakeholders and will strive to develop relationships across the business to promote cross-departmental collaboration.
While a UK based role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely as part of our regional European network of marketing experts and global marketing team base in our Geneva HQ. Representing the UK as a leading agency for marketing is a key responsibility of this role, along with the below:
Core responsibilities for this role are:
With support from your line manager, create and maintain an overarching plan for Events and Merchandise
Connect customers with our brand through live experiences and branded merchandise.
Organise detail-orientated events from inception through to post-event measurement
Manage hospitality opportunities for both internal and external audiences
Facilitate online events where required
Source MSC branded merchandise and manage stock levels
Harness cross-sale opportunities in line with commercial objectives
Ensure all events and merchandise reflect our brand values and adhere to MSC’s global brand standards
Communicate qualified leads from events to internal stakeholders
Manage spend against project and annual budget for merchandise and events
Measure and report on effectiveness of events and merchandise (including ROI analysis) and make recommendations for improvement
