Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a Marketing & Communications Lead for Culham Campus. You will develop the communications strategy for Estates, create annual plans, and oversee campaigns across channels to engage staff, tenants, contractors and local communities.

You will work on major campus developments and sustainability initiatives, providing strategic advice to Estates leadership and ensuring brand strength with external partners. This is a two-year contract with onsite presence.

Qualifications

• Degree in marketing or communications or substantial related experience.
• Proven track record delivering communications strategies for complex programmes.
• Experience acting as a communications partner to senior leaders.

About the job

The successful candidate will lead communications and engagement activities supporting UKAEA's Estates function, including major infrastructure investments, campus development projects, workplace improvements, sustainability initiatives and stakeholder engagement. They will help ensure staff, tenants, contractors, partners and local communities are informed and engaged as UKAEA's estate evolves to support the organisation's growth

This is initially a 2 year contract until November 2028.

What You'll be Doing

• Develop and deliver the marketing and communications strategy for Culham Campus.
• Create annual marketing plans, including budgets, target audiences and performance measures.
• Lead integrated campaigns across digital, print, social media, events and other relevant channels.
• Provide strategic communications advice to Estates leadership, including on complex or sensitive issues.
• Oversee communications for Estates planning, public engagement, tenant relations and redevelopment activity.
• Strengthen the Culham Campus brand through media, speaking opportunities, events and promotional content.
• Manage external communications agencies, suppliers and Estates contractors.
• Build relationships with tenants, local authorities, strategic partners and other external stakeholders.
• Work with the central Communications team on major Estates projects, campus developments and media opportunities.
• Monitor campaign performance and provide insight to improve future marketing and communications activity.

What You'll Bring

• A relevant degree or a substantial background in marketing or communications.
• A strong track record of developing and delivering communications strategies.
• Demonstrable success leading communications for complex, high-profile programmes or projects.
• Previous responsibility for acting as a communications business partner or strategic adviser to senior leaders.
• Proven capability in preparing and managing budgets.
• A background in briefing and managing external agencies and suppliers.
• UKAEA is an onsite organisation, and this role requires regular onsite presence (usually between 3-5 days in any given week) in line with business needs. We actively support flexible working arrangements where this is compatible with the role.
