We are delighted to be representing a well-established and highly regarded professional services firm in their search for a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to join their dynamic Exeter-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a marketing professional seeking to develop within a forward-thinking environment, offering hybrid and flexible working, a competitive salary of up to £30,000 (dependent on experience), and a generous benefits package.

The Role:

This exciting full-time, permanent role is perfect for a proactive individual with at least 12 months’ marketing experience, ideally gained in a professional services or B2B setting. Working within a collaborative and well-supported team, you will contribute to a range of marketing and business development activities that enhance brand visibility and support regional growth objectives.

Marketing & Business Development Assistant responsibilities include: -

  • Event & Campaign Coordination: Plan and deliver a variety of events, including seminars, conferences, and webinars, and support the management of wider marketing campaigns
  • Communications Support: Contribute to PR activities, social media output, and marketing communications including press releases and content planning
  • Administrative Management: Handle budget tracking, diary scheduling, travel planning, and provide wider admin support to the marketing team
  • Market Insight & Engagement: Attend networking events, assist with legal directory submissions, and gain insight into target markets to support business development efforts

Marketing & Business Development Assistant requirements include: -

  • Experience & Qualifications: A minimum of 12 months' marketing experience (ideally 12–18 months in B2B/professional services); CIM qualifications or ambition to study towards CIM are desirable
  • Technical & Creative Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, digital fluency (including social media and creative tools), and a detail-oriented, proactive approach
  • Teamwork & Time Management: Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines within a busy environment
  • Flexibility & Enthusiasm: Willingness to attend occasional out-of-hours events and a genuine interest in learning about new markets and supporting business growth
