J.P. Morgan in London seeks an Associate for the Securitized Products Group Market Risk team. You will partner with the trading desk to analyze portfolios, provide risk advisory, and ensure risk transparency to senior management and regulators.

You will build monitoring frameworks for global regions, understand product risks, and work with quantitative research, technology and control functions to strengthen risk controls and governance.

Qualifications

• Understanding of risk sensitivity, P&L explanations, VaR and stress tests.
• Good grasp of macroeconomic context and financial markets.

Join a team at the center of market risk decision-making and help shape outcomes across global markets. You'll have the opportunity to partner with trading desks, influence risk and return decisions, and contribute to a transparent and resilient risk framework across a diverse portfolio. As an Associate in the Securitized Products Group Market Risk team, you will work closely with the trading desk to perform portfolio analysis, provide risk advisory to facilitate risk and return decisions, and work with stakeholders globally and locally to ensure that the market risk profile is transparent to senior management and regulators. You will use a wide variety of trading analysis tools to monitor risk exposures and understand the factors that affect the trading portfolio and profit and loss of the business. You will have regular dialogue with many of our business partners throughout the Corporate and Investment Bank, including the Front Office, with discussions on risk appetite, limits, and individual large and complex transaction details. Job Responsibilities

• Build an enhanced risk monitoring framework to effectively monitor and manage the expanding business footprint for Securitized Products globally, with a special emphasis on businesses based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific markets.
• Develop an understanding of various products traded and their key risks.
• Provide innovative solutions to identify threats and weaknesses in the risk profile, proactively bringing these to the attention of the trading business and Market Risk team to enhance transparency on strategies, position concentrations, and market impact.
• Understand the factors that drive risk and profit and loss on the books, follow market movements affecting positions and limits, highlight top risks, and discuss risk changes.
• Perform regular risk and scenario analyses on various risk themes and communicate findings.
• Review and approve large and complex transactions, challenging the trading business to ensure appropriate constraints and controls are in place.
• Facilitate reports for weekly risk meetings with the desk and provide commentary.
• Interact extensively with quantitative research, technology, middle office, and market risk reporting teams to ensure accurate risk capture, demonstrating due diligence and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Ability to understand quantitative concepts relating to risk sensitivity, profit and loss explanation, value at risk, and stress scenario results.
• Good understanding of the macroeconomic landscape and strong interest in following financial markets.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams, including trading and control functions.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions and make clear recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Python or Tableau.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
