Our client, a global, multi-billion dollar AUM, multi-strategy hedge fund, is looking to hire a newly created 'Market Data Specialist' to sit within their global Data team.
Working as part of a lean team of leading professionals in the buy-side data space, you will report directly to the Global Head of Data. You will collaborate with various global functions to ensure efficient management and improvement of internal data infrastructure, data contract frameworks, and relationships with external stakeholders such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and Refinitiv.
The role combines commercial responsibilities with hands-on data and vendor management. You will manage market data vendors, oversee contracts (licensing, renewals, usage analysis), and facilitate onboarding of new partners. Additionally, you will contribute to major projects aimed at enhancing internal data usage, spend management, procurement lifecycle, and the integration of new tools for the team.
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team and make a significant impact. Candidates should ideally have 2-5 years of experience as an MDM, Market Data Analyst, or Vendor Management Analyst at a buy-side firm, bank, or major data vendor. Exceptional juniors seeking to advance may also be considered. Candidates should be comfortable working in a lean team and taking a hands-on approach. A strong academic profile is also preferred.
This is a crucial hire, and the client is committed to offering a substantial salary increase over the candidate's current base, with top performers receiving significant bonuses. The firm also provides an industry-leading benefits package.
