Job summary

Kpler’s Dry Bulk unit is expanding in Metals & Minerals. We seek a Market Data Analyst to own data quality and operations across ferrous and non-ferrous metals, solid fuels, and industrial minerals.

This role blends strong SQL/Python with curiosity about market events that move global commodity prices. You will transform high-volume data into reliable market intelligence for clients and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with large, complex datasets in commodities, shipping, logistics or related markets.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with ability to automate workflows; solid Excel for analysis.
• Understanding of commodity markets and drivers behind physical data.
• Experience with seaborne data (AIS, port data) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Tableau or similar data-visualisation tools.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of data quality for specific regions and product groups across multiple metals.
• Review constraints, validate automated outputs and ingest data from diverse sources.
• Identify tech and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Track news and industry developments; translate into meaningful patterns for the data product.
• Lead ad-hoc client requests with fast, structured analyses; collaborate with Sales and CS.
• Mentor junior analysts and bridge raw data to client insights.
