Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Market Abuse framework and its implications.
  • Good working knowledge of financial products with focus on Equities.
  • Strong IT skills with emphasis on Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Python and/or SQL skills are a plus but not required.
  • Strong background in data science or data analytics is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
  • Degree in finance, statistics, data analysis or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the UK market abuse framework on a day-to-day basis.
  • Run daily trade surveillance using the firm's tool and investigate alerts promptly.
  • Identify risks and escalations to Market Abuse Manager for review.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into market abuse and improper activity.
  • Document findings clearly and support further investigations as needed.
  • Assist with internal escalations when required.
  • Draft STOR forms for regulator submissions (e.g., FCA).
  • Help maintain market abuse policies and standards.
  • Respond to regulatory enquiries about market abuse issues.
  • Create and maintain market abuse related MI and reporting.
  • Support ad-hoc projects to enhance the market abuse program.
  • Assist teammates with ad-hoc tasks as needed.
