Quast Ltd. is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer for a defence-focused role in the Maritime domain. The position supports Acquisition Safety policy, safety engineering solutions and through-life risk management.

The role sits in a Safety Engineering Skills Group, offering hybrid work with Abbey Wood, Bristol, and UK travel. Current SC clearance is required and UK nationals only. Contract from ASAP to 31 March 2027, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• STEM qualification at RQF Level 4 or above.
• Experience providing technical advice and delivering safety systems or engineering outcomes.
• Technical experience in safety systems or safety acquisition across contexts.
• Professional registration with EngTech or RSciTech, or equivalent Level 6 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and guidance on Acquisition Safety policy and its application.
• Deliver safety engineering solutions for equipment and systems.
• Contribute to through-life management of project safety risks.
• Support safe and suitable equipment, systems and services for Front Line Commands.
• Provide expertise in System Safety Policy and Governance.
• Support System Safety Management activities.
• Contribute to System Safety Assurance and Audit activities.
