Job summary

GAC Group in Eastham is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage day-to-day maritime and terminal service operations, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery. You will oversee daily ops, allocate tasks, and maintain high service standards in a busy port environment.

The role requires leading and developing a team, rostering staff, conducting training, and driving safety compliance through audits and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years service in marine and terminal services.
• OOW and STCW qualifications desirable but not essential.
• NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and prioritise workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, delegating tasks and managing priorities.
• Manage staffing levels through rostering and workforce planning.
• Train and develop team members to achieve high performance.
• Complete site training to enable operational cover when required.
• Maintain safe and compliant operations through audits, competency checks and risk assessments.
• Act as a key customer contact and contribute to business development activities to expand the customer base.
