Job summary

SubSea Craft Limited in Portsmouth, UK, is seeking skilled marine engineers to assemble subsystems, test propulsion components, and support vessel commissioning. The role requires hands-on engineering, attention to detail, and adherence to marine safety standards.

You will install components, identify defects, follow detailed instructions (including 3D models), and assist with full vessel fit-out and testing while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or HND in Boat Building or Marine Engineering is desirable.
• Experience with diesel and petrol engines.
• Experience with hand tools and various light machines.
• Experience in waterjet and gearbox installation and maintenance.
• Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Existing right to live and work in the UK and no bar to UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble marine sub-systems and support functional testing activities.
• Build and test marine propulsion components to a high standard.
• Identify and report defects during vessel construction and system installation.
• Install sub-system components into the vessel per specs.
• Report defects or material issues and follow correct processes.
• Interpret and follow detailed work instructions, including via 3D models.
• Support the full fit-out of vessels and ensure proper installation.
• Follow safety procedures, instructions, and project schedules.
• Produce high-quality work with focus on safety and compliance.
• Attend meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Travel to off-site testing or commissioning activities as required.
• Aid operations with routine and reactive maintenance tasks.
