Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Panel Wirer (Marine) in Fareham to assemble, wire and test electrical control panels for autonomous marine systems. You’ll work from schematics and engineering drawings, ensuring safety, quality and compliant documentation in a hands-on production role.

You should have time-served or apprenticeship training in electrical engineering, with experience in AC/DC systems, motor control and PLC wiring.

Qualifications

  • Time-served or apprenticeship training in electrical/engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical production, assembly or panel wiring.
  • Experience in marine/boat-building environment is desirable.
  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable.
  • Experience with AC/DC systems, motor control, PLC wiring and industrial control equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels, distribution boards and marine electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Layout, route and terminate cables, looms and harnesses to required standards.
  • Install and connect breakers, relays, contactors, PLCs, terminal blocks, switches and sensors.
  • Carry out continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, functional testing and fault-finding.
  • Complete electrical work in accordance with marine regulations and SYOS quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and production records.
  • Carry out quality checks on your own work and support team checks.
