Job summary

2020 Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Operations Manager for a leading organisation in Fife within the offshore and marine sector. The role delivers complex offshore projects across the UK and North West Europe, focusing on subsea cable installation and repair.

You will oversee vessel operations, offshore teams, subcontractors and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within subsea cables, offshore construction or marine operations.
  • Strong project management background within subsea cable or offshore wind sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across operational teams, clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of subsea cable installation and repair projects, coordinating offshore teams, vessels and key subcontractors.
  • Manage and develop the offshore operations team, maintain competency matrices and mentor staff to build capability and experience.
  • Produce and maintain departmental procedures, method statements and operational documentation for marine installation and repair activities.
  • Manage key subcontractors and develop long-term strategic partnerships to support reliable offshore project delivery.
  • Provide technical input during tender development, identifying safe, practical and commercially effective installation methodologies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for existing and prospective subsea clients, maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion Health, Safety and Environmental performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role delivering complex offshore projects across the UK and North West Europe, with a primary focus on subsea cable installation and repair.

Working within the Subsea Services division, you will oversee vessel operations, offshore teams, subcontractors and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

As Operations Manager, you will combine operational leadership, technical expertise and strategic project delivery, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced offshore professional looking to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of subsea cable installation and repair projects, coordinating offshore teams, vessels and key subcontractors.

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • An Engineering degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within subsea cables, offshore construction or marine operations.
  • A strong project management background within the subsea cable or offshore wind sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across operational teams, clients and stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of vessel operations and offshore project logistics.
