Job description

Shape the delivery of some of Europe's most ambitious offshore energy projects.

If you're an experienced Project Controls Manager looking for a role where you'll influence major offshore construction projects from strategy through execution, this is an opportunity to join one of the world's leading marine and offshore renewable energy organisations.

Our client is a global leader in offshore construction, subsea installation and marine engineering, delivering complex projects that help build the future of clean energy. With significant investment across the UK and Europe, they're expanding their Offshore Renewable Energy division and are looking for an exceptional Project Controls Manager to become a key part of that journey.

This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain schedules. You'll become a trusted advisor to project leadership, driving commercial performance, delivery certainty and operational excellence across high-profile subsea rock installation projects.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Join a recognised global leader delivering landmark offshore renewable energy projects.

  • Play a pivotal role influencing multi-million-pound project outcomes.

  • Work alongside industry-leading marine, engineering and commercial specialists.

  • Enjoy genuine hybrid working with flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK.

  • Gain exposure to international projects and offshore operations across Europe.

  • Be part of a business investing heavily in the future of offshore wind.

The role

As Project Controls Manager, you'll establish and lead the entire project controls function for complex subsea rock installation programmes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and predictably.

You'll bring together planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting and performance reporting into one integrated delivery function, providing project leadership with the insight needed to make critical decisions throughout execution. This is a highly visible position where your expertise will directly influence project success.

What you'll be responsible for

You'll lead every aspect of project controls, including:

  • Developing and implementing the Project Controls Plan, ensuring alignment across WBS, CBS, reporting and change management.

  • Building and maintaining integrated Primavera P6 schedules covering quarry operations, loadout, marine logistics and offshore installation.

  • Managing critical path analysis, float management and schedule optimisation.

  • Driving progress measurement through earned value, productivity tracking and quantity reporting.

  • Leading cost control activities including budgets, commitments, accruals, forecasting and variance analysis.

  • Managing schedule and cost change control, including impact assessments and claims support.

  • Producing executive-level dashboards, KPIs and performance reports for senior leadership and clients.

  • Working closely with engineering, procurement, vessel teams, HSE, QA/QC, finance and subcontractors.

  • Supporting contractual reporting, milestone certification and project governance.

  • Driving continuous improvement across project controls systems, reporting and quality processes.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines technical excellence with commercial awareness and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant Project Controls or Cost Controls experience within EPC, construction, marine or offshore projects.

  • Experience supporting offshore or marine construction delivery.

  • Advanced Primavera P6 expertise.

  • Excellent Excel and management reporting capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of forecasting, earned value and cost control methodologies.

  • Experience integrating complex multi-disciplinary project schedules.

  • The ability to communicate confidently with project leadership and clients.

  • Knowledge of offshore delivery challenges including weather downtime, vessel utilisation and marine logistics.

  • Experience with Omega 360 would be advantageous.

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management is welcomed but not essential.

Location & travel

This role offers genuine flexibility. The UK head office is based in Surrey, but candidates can be based anywhere in the UK with good access to London and the ability to attend key office meetings and support occasional offshore and international project activities.

Why join now?

The offshore renewable energy sector is entering one of its biggest periods of investment and growth. This is your opportunity to step into a role where you'll work on internationally significant projects, collaborate with some of the industry's best specialists, and make a genuine impact on the delivery of the next generation of offshore energy infrastructure.

If you're ready to take ownership of complex, high-value projects and build your career with a world-class organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
