Job summary

Pertemps Isle of Wight is currently recruiting a Marine Mechanic / Marine Engineer to join a leading marine engineering business in East Cowes. The role covers fault finding, servicing and maintenance of marine engines and related systems on a range of vessels.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience, a practical approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience as Marine Mechanic or Marine Engineer.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining diesel engines and marine systems.
• Hands-on, practical approach with problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults on marine equipment and vessels.
• Service, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Install, remove and overhaul marine engines and systems.
• Work on propulsion, steering, fuel, hydraulic and cooling systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
• Ensure work is safe and high quality.
• Collaborate within a professional engineering team.
