Job summary

Marine Engineer position in Falmouth, UK, with a salary dependent on experience. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership and project management across propulsion, power generation, and onboard electrical systems.

Based mainly in Falmouth with some travel, you will install, diagnose, test, and maintain marine systems, support retrofits and overhauls, and ensure regulatory compliance while leading project efforts with apprentices and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven expertise with propulsion systems, power generation, and fuel systems.
• Knowledge of onboard electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Installation, diagnostics, testing, and maintenance of marine systems and machinery.
• Provide technical leadership on retrofits, new builds, and major overhauls.
• Conduct performance assessments, system diagnostics, and root‑cause failure investigations.

We are a looking for Marine Engineer for a well established fast-growing marine business located on the South Coast, representing a range of premium brands in propulsion, electric propulsion, stabilisation, and onboard systems across all sectors. The Role will mainly based in Falmouth with some travel as required

Key Responsibilities of the Marine Engineer

Installation, diagnostics, testing, and maintenance of marine systems and machinery.

Provide technical leadership on retrofits, new builds, and major overhauls.

Conduct performance assessments, system diagnostics, and root‑cause failure investigations.

Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, classification standards, and company policies.

Support service leadership in managing projects.
