Job summary

Expleo Group in Huddersfield is seeking a Gear Manufacturing Engineer to enhance manufacturing processes across rotating components and precision assembly. You will support design reviews, drive process improvements, and clinically apply GD&T on complex parts.

Key responsibilities include interfacing Engineering and Manufacturing, PFMEA leadership, tooling design, and cross functional collaboration with QA and Supply Chain. A STEM degree and professional engineering status are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM discipline (mechanical or marine engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Professional membership of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., IMechE, IMarEST, IET).
• Experience with CNC machining, heat treatment implications is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams to meet quality standards and milestones.
• Act as interface between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure clear communication of requirements.
• Assess manufacturability and process capability to achieve right-first-time production.
• Lead PFMEA activities, process mapping, risk assessment, and procedure development.
• Design and implement bespoke tooling, fixtures, and methods while ensuring safety compliance.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and external stakeholders such as suppliers and auditors.
• Create and maintain work orders, process routings, and shop-floor instructions.
