HSB Technical Ltd is recruiting a Marine Engineer for a permanent/full-time role in Plymouth. You will diagnose technical issues, upgrade vessels, handle breakdown repairs and routine maintenance on marine leisure and commercial boats, and maintain mechanical systems of generators.

The ideal candidate will have a Marine Engineering qualification (desirable) and a full UK driving licence, with keen attention to detail and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Inboard & outboard engines
• Engine controls & electrical systems
• Gearboxes, stern drives, IPS & stern gear
• Generators, pumps, fuel tanks & systems
• Thrusters, hydraulics, lifting & stropping
• Sea trials and diagnostics
• Manage your own workload efficiently
• Complete timesheets and maintain service records (often online)
• Use electronic parts catalogues to identify and order parts
• Liaise directly with customers, providing updates and top-level service
• Respond to enquiries with professionalism and technical expertise
