Marine Engineer

Plymouth

Salary range of £34,000 to £44,000 per annum dependent on experience

Located in Kingswear on the River Dart for many years, we expanded into Plymouth in 2024, Britain’s Ocean City.

We are seeking skilled engineers for our Plymouth site. We pride ourselves on providing first-class service and are an authorized Volvo Penta Distributing Dealer supporting the South West.

Responsibilities

• Technical fault-finding, repowering, and upgrading vessels
• Breakdown repairs and scheduled maintenance on marine leisure and commercial vessels
• Work on inboard/outboard engines, electrical systems, gearboxes, generators, hydraulics, and more
• Complete timesheets, maintain service records, identify parts, liaise with customers, and ensure high customer satisfaction

Work Schedule

Typically 40 hours/week, 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime and emergency call-outs on weekends/bank holidays may be required. Overnight stays may be necessary for remote jobs or training.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• At least five years’ experience as a Marine Engineer (references required)
• Customer-focused with good communication skills
• Team player, basic IT skills, manual UK driving license, good literacy

Desirable

• Forklift license, Powerboat Level II, sea survival, VHF, manual handling, main dealer training
