Marine Electronics Service Engineers (All Levels – Technician to Senior Engineer)

Locations: Multiple across the UK

Job Type: Full-time, On-Site / Hybrid, Field service with UK & overseas travel

We are expanding our national team of Marine Electronics Engineers and Technicians. Whether you're starting out or ready to lead projects and mentor others, we have opportunities for you.

SIRM UK is the leading UK distributor of Electronic Navigation and Communication equipment for the maritime sector. With over 100 years of experience, we specialize in system design, project management, and support services for ships’ bridge electronics systems.

As an independent company, we provide comprehensive Service and Support, including airtime solutions and software tailored for the marine market. We support commercial vessels with navigation, communication, and safety systems to keep them operational, compliant, and connected. If you're hands-on, technically proficient, and customer-focused, we want to hear from you.

We have multiple vacancies across the UK and welcome applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Installing and commissioning marine electronics on vessels
  • Performing maintenance, repairs, and surveys (if qualified)
  • Supporting customers with diagnostics and solutions
  • Identifying service opportunities and upselling
  • Supporting project delivery
  • Traveling across the UK and occasionally overseas
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in marine or field electronics
  • Qualified to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of electronic navigation and communication systems
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to pass medical and working at height training
Preferred Certifications:
  • GMDSS Operator’s Certificate
  • Radio/VDR Survey or Class Approval experience
  • BOSIET/OLF Certification
  • Manufacturer-specific training
