Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Birmingham is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to support the manufacture and in-process testing of in-vitro diagnostic products. You will work within SOPs and Quality Management System requirements to deliver Right First Time, On Time and in Full.

You will own your workload, follow the published manufacturing plan, perform testing, maintenance, ensure materials availability, and contribute to continuous improvement, EHS and Quality compliance.

Qualifications

• GCSE-level education or equivalent with at least one year of relevant experience, or a relevant degree.
• Strong attention to detail, good organisation and communication skills, and ability to work within a team and to deadlines.
• Computer literacy, including Word and Excel, is required.
• Knowledge of COSHH, Quality Systems or ISO 13485 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing and in-process testing activities.
• Own scheduled maintenance for designated equipment or manufacturing areas.
• Ensure materials and inventory are available when required.
• Complete accurate documentation, data and process checks.
• Apply technical knowledge to first-level troubleshooting.
• Identify opportunities to reduce errors and improve processes, EHS and Quality compliance.
• Support colleagues through training on specific processes.
