Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in the United Kingdom is seeking an Operational Support Engineer to ensure facility and manufacturing systems run efficiently, delivering world-class products and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and KPI analysis, with opportunities to collaborate across functions and with vendors to drive cost savings and performance improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum HNC or City & Guilds in an engineering discipline.
Experience in medical device manufacturing environment or cGMP manufacturing desirable.
Experience delivering projects and working as part of a team.
Experience maintaining facility & process equipment.
Role could require travel and out of hours working.
Role will require working in controlled environments such as Cleanroom.

Responsibilities

Maintain facility, facility systems and manufacturing process equipment to the correct standard.
Participate in multi-functional site projects, taking ownership and delivering actions.
Use troubleshooting & problem-solving techniques to investigate and repair issues.
Complete & monitor essential preventative maintenance tasks.
Complete & monitor essential corrective work order tasks.
Update, review and analyse department KPIs to ensure performance and identify improvements using data driven decisions.
Work with other departments to develop and improve facility, facility systems and manufacturing process equipment to deliver change and improve KPIs.
