Job summary

Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC in Skipton is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will support daily production activities, ensure equipment and processes operate safely and in compliance with GMP standards.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You will set up, operate, and clean manufacturing equipment, complete documentation accurately, and contribute to achieving daily production targets in a 9-day fortnight schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture products in line with GMP standards and approved procedures.
• Set up, operate, dismantle and clean manufacturing equipment to a high standard.
• Complete production documentation accurately and ensure it is Right First Time.
• Follow SOPs and maintain full compliance at all times.
• Support production schedules to help meet daily targets.
• Identify and resolve issues, escalating concerns when required.
• Maintain high housekeeping, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure equipment is safe, clean and functioning, flag maintenance needs.
• Support continuous improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Participate in training and share knowledge with colleagues.

What you'll be doing

As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll be responsible for supporting daily production activities and ensuring equipment and processes operate smoothly and safely.

• Manufacturing products in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and approved procedures.
• Setting up, operating, dismantling and cleaning manufacturing equipment to a high standard.
• Completing production documentation accurately and ensuring paperwork is "Right First Time".
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining full compliance at all times.
• Supporting production schedules to help the team achieve daily and wider operational targets.
• Identifying and resolving issues where possible, escalating concerns when required.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ensuring equipment is safe, clean and operating effectively, highlighting any maintenance concerns.
• Supporting continuous improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Participating in training programmes and sharing knowledge by helping to train and support colleagues.
• Promoting a culture of safety, quality and compliance throughout the manufacturing area.

• Experience within a manufacturing, packaging or production environment.
• Experience of manual or semi-automated manufacturing processes.
• Previous experience working within a GMP-regulated environment.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience or experience in a similarly regulated sector.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
