Job summary

ROSE & YOUNG RECRUITMENT LTD is seeking a Technical Writer to join a manufacturing team in Rugby. You will turn complex engineering input into clear operation manuals, installation guides, maintenance instructions and product documentation, working closely with engineering, design and product specialists to ensure accuracy and consistency across documents.

This hands-on role requires excellent written English, strong attention to detail and ability to present information clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience creating technical documents, manuals, instructions or similarly structured content.
• Strong written English with ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail and document presentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and the Office suite.
• Collaborative approach to gather information from engineers and designers.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or technical product environments (desirable).
• Experience with document control, revision management or compliance documentation (desirable).
• Ability to read CAD drawings, engineering documents or bills of materials (desirable).
• Experience coordinating translated or multilingual documents (desirable).
• Experience using publishing tools like Adobe InDesign or Illustrator (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Create and update operation manuals, installation guides, maintenance instructions and product information.
• Turn engineering input into clear, user-friendly content.
• Work with engineers, designers and product specialists to confirm information and maintain accuracy.
• Manage document revisions, templates, file structures and controlled documentation libraries.
• Create or coordinate product images, diagrams and technical illustrations.
• Support multilingual documentation and improve usability of documents.
